In 2012 Manufacturer Direct was started in Seattle, WA by Ryan and Jules Gray. Before starting Manufacturer Direct, Ryan was a senior buyer and brand manager at a publicly traded online retailer. Working closely with manufacturers who were looking to grow their online business, he found only a handful of manufacturers that truly understood how to merchandise and market their products for an online audience. Seeing an opportunity to improve upon the lack of resources and data management skills manufacturers possessed, Ryan and his partner Jules developed a winning online sales strategy and started Manufacturer Direct.
